This page explains how Home Helpers handles your personal information when you use this website or get in touch. I am Johnny Stott, sole trader, operating as Home Helpers. I am the data controller for the information I hold about you.

How to contact me

What I collect and why

The only personal information this site collects is what you type into the contact form on the Contact page:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address (optional)
  • Your postcode (optional)
  • Your message describing the job
  • How you found me (optional)

I use this to respond to your quote request and, if you go ahead, to deliver the work. The lawful bases I rely on are performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) and legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) — for keeping records of customers who have engaged with my business.

How long I keep it

I keep contact-form submissions for up to 24 months from our last contact, then delete them. If you ask me to delete them sooner, I will.

Who else sees it

I use a small number of third-party services to run the website and reply to you. Each one acts as a data processor under contract:

  • Krystal Hosting Ltd (UK) — hosts the website and the email server.
  • Google LLC (USA) — Google Analytics may be enabled in future to count anonymous visitors. It is not currently active. When it is, it will only run after you give consent via the cookie banner. Any transfer to the USA will be covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • WP Mail SMTP / Site Mailer — transactional email delivery between this site and my inbox.

I do not sell your information. I do not share it with marketing companies. I do not transfer it outside the UK except via the third parties listed above and only under appropriate safeguards.

Children

I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information through the form, please email me and I will delete it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you
  • Have it corrected if it is wrong
  • Have it deleted
  • Restrict or object to how I use it
  • Have it ported to another provider

Complaints

If you are not happy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

Please get in touch with me first and give me a chance to put it right.

Changes

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site for at least 30 days.
